Sharing Compound with a partner

A household in Compound lets you and a partner work from the same budget, goals, and dashboard without sharing one login. Each member keeps their own account and their own transaction history.

What is shared

  • Budgets — one set of categories + limits, edited by either member.
  • Goals and debts — shared targets you can both contribute toward and watch the progress on.
  • Net-worth dashboard — assets and debts from both members' connected accounts roll up into one number.
  • Categories and rules — taught once, applied for both.
  • Cash flow + analytics — combined across both members' transactions.

What stays per-person

  • Connected bank accounts — owned by whoever connected them. Either person leaving the household keeps their own accounts and history.
  • Coach connections — each member connects to their own coach independently.
  • Subscriptions and recurring detection — based on each person's individual transaction pattern.
  • Profile + login + 2FA — never shared.

Inviting and leaving

Send an invite from Settings → Household. Your partner accepts via email, signs in, and the shared rollups appear immediately. Either of you can leave at any time — the leaver keeps their own accounts and transactions; the budgets/goals stay with the remaining member.
